Throw Back Thursday: Better late than never

Alright so here is my disclaimer, these post are usually going to funny. I like to make people laugh…I cannot help it. However there are some times that you need to be serious for a bit and truly look at how far you have come. That is why I choose this picture. It is me running of my first races, a 15k. I have to be honest it was painful and not the most enjoyable experience of my life at the time. However that is only half the point. There is so much more to the point.

1) I like to notice how far I have come. At that time I was not the most active person in the world. Now in the course of a few years I am training for my first IronMan and I am super excited about the journey and crossing the finish line. Far too often in life, we look at far we have to go, what our next steps are and how much higher we have to climb. It can seem like a never ending battle. The fight almost feels pointless, I beg of you, do not give up. Take a moment to truly understand just how far you have come. I don’t care if it is losing weight. getting your dream job or whatever. Take a moment right now to truly enjoy the journey you have been on and how far you have come. Take a moment to realize how awesome you are and that you are good enough just the way you are.

2) Crossing that finish line, whether it be for a job, race or anything in life will not matter one tenth as much as the journey was. Things take time in life and there is a reason why. We are supposed to take on the journey. We learn from it, grow from it and transform in it. The majority of your transformation comes far before you ever get to the finish line or for that matter the start line. Embrace the journey, hold on tight and grow.

3) Last but not least, have amazing people in your life. People that inspire you so much they scare the hell out of you sometimes. Spend your time with people that have dreams so big at times they seem unrealistic. Don’t just spend your time with them, become one of them dream big and take action.

The fact of the matter is, when you cross that finish line, it does not mean shit if you have no one to celebrate it with. Some of the best moments in my life have been spending time with one of my best friends or with a group of my best friends on a ride, run or on the path to get to that finish line. I simply cannot put into words, how much these people mean to me.

You are not in the journey alone. People everywhere are willing to help and be a part of your journey, all you have to do is ask. You can be a part of someone else’s journey as well, because you are needed.

June 12th 2014

So, I be surprised if anyone even recognizes me in this one. It was from so long ago….I took this last night. This is me thinking of a Throw Back Thursday picture to take and what to blog about! I know my secret is out, I sometimes write my blog before Thursday, I mean I always take the picture before the blog because you have to…

What was going through my head then, so much! I was like how can I top last weeks blog picture? How do I not disappoint my fans by providing some entertaining, hard hitting and honest media attention? It was pretty serious I mean I thought about it for a super long time…like 5 minutes or something. This picture is from so long ago.
